Founder and owner of All American Racing/Anglo American Racers wich is still running. Since 2002 also building the Alligator motorcycle. One of only 3 drivers who has won a GP-race in a car of his own make. Dan's son Alex Gurney where driving in the Grand AM series 2009. Dan has raced in 312 events in 20 countries with 51 different makes of cars winning 51 races and finishing on the podium an additional 47 times. Dan is one of just two who has won races in the four major categories of motorsports: Grand Prix, Indy Car, NASCAR and Sports Car, the other driver is Mario Andretti. In 1971 he developed the Gurney Flap (wickerbill), an invention which has been adopted by the automobile racing and aviation industries throughout the world. In 2012 Dan's All American Racers built a car for Dayton's Higcroft Racing aiming for 24h LeMans.
