Known for having the shortest F1 career, he had just started off the grid but immediately encountered a fuel pump issue. As a result, his car stopped after just six feet!
Loof worked for BMW, building the sports car which von Hanstein used to win the 1000 Miles of Brescia before the war. He also was designer and engineer of the Veritas machines that raced in the the late forties and early fifties. Died by a brain tumour after a long illness in 1956.
