At the 1955 24h LeMans Lance where hit by Levegh's Mercedes and wreckage flew into the crowd killing 80 spectators. Lance where unhurt and kept on racing. At the Tourist Trophy 1956 he crasched avoiding a multiple accident in which two drivers were killed and another seriously injured, he decided to call it a day. Later worked as an exporter, living in Spain.
