Reg had his licence withdrawn from 1937 to 1939 following a serious accident at Silverstone. Retired from racing 1957 and took up a full time team manager’s job at Aston Martin. In 1961 and 1962 he oversaw the Yeoman Credit and Bowmaker Lola teams. Later set up Reg Parnell Racing team before he died after a appendix operation 1964 at the age of 52.
